I am wondering if I have outofdate firmware in my just purchased MT300N-V2.
The interface reports the following as the firmware version
“OpenWrt 18.06.1 r7258-5eb055306f / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-18.196.56128-9112198)”
On the GL website the latest firmware available to down load is shown as “gl-mt300n-V2-3.0-1011_clean.bin”, plus two other files which seem to be older. This file seems completely different to the firmware version reported in the interface
In the meantime I am unable to get the router setup as a repeater. Indeed the menus in the interface as shown in the manual are completely different to the ones I actually see. hence my worry about the firmware. I thought to ask here before returning the kit to Amazon as useless
The clean firmware is purge OpenWRT firmware, it doesn’t include any GL software.
You should download the latest stable firmware in this folder. http://download.gl-inet.com/firmware/mt300n-v2/v1/
