I cleared the configuration right after upgrading to the latest firmware and reconfigured all the areas of the configuration. However, for some reason some devices fail to get an IP address of the router.
It is as if they have been blocked on some list. What logs, lists, configuration can I verify it has not been accidently blocked?
Perhaps it would be good that you specify which version of firmware you are using and what are the devices you are referring to that is not able to get an IP address? I’m facing similar issues with my Wifi Bulb and my smart humidifier on the v4.9.0 (Stable) with static IP lease, under the log it was shown that the handshake was completed but got disconnected (kept on going as such).
Could you please provide the following information?
What is the firmware version of your MT6000.
Could you please provide the model of the clients that cannot obtain a DHCP address, and let us know whether they are connected via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, 5GHz Wi-Fi, or Ethernet.
Please check whether Access Control is enabled, and whether these clients are listed in the Blocklist or affected by Allowlist settings.
When the issue happens, please let us know the exact behavior:
Is the client connected to Wi-Fi but stuck on “Obtaining IP address”?
Or can the client not connect to Wi-Fi at all?
Could you please also export the system log after reproducing the issue and send it to us via private message. We will check the DHCP-related logs for further analysis.
The clients that are having issues connecting are different vendor devices. When they are using a randomize MAC address they are able to connect. When I disable the features of randomizing the MAC addresses they are unable to connect. However, I want all those devices to use their actual WiFi MAC addresses because the “Parental Controls” do not work correctly as I believe it is from the MACs keep changing.
I do see some MAC addresses listed in the Blocklist which I blocked at one point in time, but I see no means of removing them from this list. How do I remove them from the Blocklist?
WiFi is not enabled on the MT6000. I have multiple WiFi access points throughout that are configured as “Access Point”. When the clients try and connect, the devices authenticate the wireless handshake and get stuck on “Obtaining IP Address”
Since the same device can obtain an IP address normally when using a randomized MAC address, but cannot obtain an IP address when using its real MAC address, please check whether the real MAC address is affected by the Access Control settings.
Please go to Clinet → Access Control → Blocklist and check whether these real MAC addresses are still listed there.
After removing the MAC address entries, please reconnect the affected devices and check whether they can obtain an IP address.
If the issue still exists after removing the Blocklist entries, please provide a screenshot of the Access Control page and the LAN DHCP settings page. We will further check the configuration.
Thank you for the quick reply. I discovered the issue to be trying to perform these actions via the web portal / browser. On the last two screen captures of how to remove the MAC address, could not be performed using the browser.
On the first screen capture you show the listed clients that are blocked, in my situation no clients were showing up in that list as being blocked, likewise on the mobile app. In the second capture, I could see the actual MAC addresses that were blocked however there was no way to remove them from the Access Control list. No way to select them to be removed.
The good news is, I was able to remove them using the glinet app on my phone from the Access Control page.
