Mudi 7 feature request: eSIM profile management for physical eUICC cards

I personally own quite a lot of phones, MiFis and other devices with cellular modems, so I personally prefer to use eSIMs installed on eUICC cards for flexibility (e.g. being able to swap eSIMs around between devices)

I see that on older Mudi devices, this was possible (mainly because eSIM functionality was provided using one of these cards), but not with the Mudi 7 and its built-in eSIM chip.

It’s quite a pity - I reckon even just minimal functionality (e.g. switching between already-installed profiles) would go a long way to making eUICC cards more pleasant to use, since you won’t have to pull out the back cover and battery and have another device that supports eUICC cards.

It’s technically possible too - I’ve managed to switch profiles on an eUICC card using only the Mudi 7, without even rebooting or removing the battery! This was done with eSIM enabled on the SIM-2 slot and an eUICC card in the SIM-1 slot.

  1. Install lpac: download the lpac .ipk package from here onto your Mudi 7, install it with opkg install <filename>
  2. Configure lpac to work with SIM 1: uci set lpac.global.apdu_backend=at; uci set lpac.at.device=/dev/smd11
  3. Use lpac to manipulate your eUICC, e.g. lpac profile list, lpac profile enable <iccid>

Since it’s technically possible, I’m hoping that it can make its way into the mobile app and/or webUI, for ease of use and all that.
