I just got my Mudi 7 (GL-E5800). Upon testing it on Malaysia telco - Maxis and UMobile, only able to get 4G/4G+. at the same location I can get 5G on ZTE U50 Pro, Samsung S25U, S25FE, Fold8, S23U, TP-Link Deco X50, NX200.
I even updated to latest firmware (thru the router), still the same. 4G/4G+ only. APN are set correctly.
So it is not the SIM Card issue.
Any advise / suggestion to fix this.
Where did you order this in Malaysia?
I ordered the unit in Malaysia thru Shopee platform. Seller is in HongKong.

Hi,
Could you please confirm whether your Mudi 7 is GL-E5800EU or GL-E5800NA ?
Since the same Maxis and U Mobile SIM cards can connect to 5G on your other devices, could you also check which bands those devices are using when connected to 5G at the same location? If available, please share both the LTE and 5G NR bands, for example B3 + n78 .
On the Mudi 7, please also run the following AT commands and share the complete results with us:
AT+COPS=?
AT+QSCAN=3
We will compare these results with the bands supported by your Mudi 7 version and check whether the modem is able to detect the corresponding network and cells.
Mine is EU version.
I managed to get the MUDI 7 to connect to 5G.
What I have tried:
- Tower Lock to n78, n257
- Result: totally no internet connection.
- Tower Unlock.
- Reboot the unit.
- Now able to connect to 5G for both Maxis and UMobile.
When I do testing on eSim, it seems there is a bug. I am using Klook eSIM (Maxis). It is able to connect to Internet without issue. However, when I reboot the device, the eSIM become unusable / cannot connect internet.
What I have tried:
- Disable the eSIM then enable it - eSIM not working
- Select SIM 1 as main internet connect. Then switch to eSIM which is already enabled - eSIM not working.
- Disable the eSIM and delete it. Add back the same eSIM profile and then the eSIM is working.
- Shutdown the device.
- Power on the device.
- eSIM is working fine.
It seems reboot corrupts eSIM profile.
Another finding:
After the device exit from Low Power mode, the eSIM become unregistered even after Disable and then Enable it.
Need to delete the eSim profile and add it back.

Hi,
Thank you for the update. We are glad to hear that the Mudi 7 can connect to 5G with both Maxis and U Mobile.
Regarding the eSIM issue, could you please confirm whether it can be reproduced consistently? For example, does the eSIM become unregistered every time after a normal reboot and every time after exiting Low Power Mode, or does it only occur occasionally?
If the issue can be reproduced, when it occurs again, could you please provide a screenshot of the Cellular page showing the eSIM status, ICCID, IMSI together with the complete router firmware version and run the following AT command and share the result:
AT+QGMR;+CSUB
Through SSH, please run:
ls -l /usr/bin/lpa*
ps | grep lpa
curl -s -X POST -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"method": "prod"}' http://localhost:3456/sdk/v1
Finally, while the issue is still present, please export the router log and Modem Debug Info and send them to us via private message.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
may I know where to find this SSH?
Hi,
You can refer to the tutorial:
Is the Router Log can be found in SYSTEM - Log section? I only can see System Log, Kernel Log, Crash Log, Cloud Log and Ngnix Log.
May I know where to find Modem Debug Info?

Hi,
Please go to INTERNET → Cellular and click download the logs to export the Modem Debug log.
For the eSIM debug log. Please go to INTERNET → Cellular → eSIM Management and click Export Log For Support.

Hi Charles,
I already provided all requested info (message to you). Any finding?
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
We have reviewed the logs and screenshots you provided.
When the issue occurs, the modem returns 999999999999999 instead of a valid IMSI, which indicates that the eSIM information is not being read correctly at that time.
We are checking the behavior further with the relevant team. We will update you once we have further findings.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Noted.
Waiting for your good news / fixes.
Thx
