I’m currently facing issues with a Visible physical SIM card in my GL-E5800 Mudi 7.
I successfully spoofed the IMEI of a Google Pixel 3a onto my Mudi 7, but unfortunately, I’ve been throttled to only 10 Mbps.
The same PSIM on the Google Pixel 3a reaches 79.7 Mbps and 3.16 Mbps, with peak speeds of 125 Mbps.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
TTL set to 65
MTU set to 1420, 1428
I haven’t been able to achieve the desired SIM voice speeds.
Has anyone had success with the Visible PSIM? I'm open to any suggestions you may have.
Hi
The Visible appears to have deployed DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) or similar technologies to accurately detect hotspot traffic and apply restrictions. At the moment, there doesn’t seem to be any simple way to bypass it.
You may want to refer to some reports shared by other users:
I think Will is correct in that Verizon is using some sort of DPI to detect tethering. Back when I was using Verizon’s Visible service I had to combine a VPN with the TTL mod to bypass the tethering throttle. I also use US Mobile but with a X3000. I am currently using Dark Star and as the OP experienced, it is not registering hotspot data even without the VPN. I don’t have any plans to switch over to Warp in the near future but when I do I’ll report back with my findings.
Had to set TTL and HL (IPv6) to 88. 65 doesn’t work anymore.
Also, had to change the APN from ‘internet’ to ‘VZWINTERNET’ because when on the ‘internet’ APN, downstream would be fine, but after about 60s, the upstream becomes throttled to “hotspot” speeds (e.g. 2-5 Mbps). Changing the APN to ‘VZWINTERNET’ solved the upstream/upload throttle.
EDIT: This was on a Puli AX (GL-XE3000) which is basically the same as a Spitz AX.
