I’m using a Beryl AX with a WiFi repeater as the primary WAN, and Starlink via Ethernet as secondary.
My issue is that the Beryl only ever seems to want to use Starlink, which is a problem because it has limited data. The WiFi Repeater is slow but if I unplug the Starlink Ethernet, the Beryl happily uses the Repeater as the primary WAN and works fine. The second I plug in the Starlink again, it immediately switches to that and refuses to leave it. I can verify this by monitoring graphs in LuCI while streaming a show, for example.
So it might be tricky to diagnose because while I was waiting for this post to be approved, I ended up downloading the luci-app-mwan3 to configure it through Luci and fixed it. I found that under the “members” section, the metric for the wwan was 2 and the wan was 1, which seems to not match what I set it to in the Gl.inet GUI. When I changed the metrics, I’m now getting behavior as I’d expect - Wwan has priority and I never see wan having any activity unless Wwan goes down.
Why does mwan3 and the Luci configuration not match what’s in the Gl.inet GUI? Does Luci supersede what’s in the gui?
