My Puli AX turns off when trying to turn it on

Hi there,

I have a Puli AX Router and was quite happy with it until now.
Now my girlfriend tried to turn it on but it does not boot up.
She had accidentally drained the battery before to zero, because she turned it on but forgot to attach it to the power outlet.
But after that incident she plugged it in and the battery loaded up fully.
The battery LED now lights up solid green, which I think means: battery full.

After further inspection, the Problem symptomatic looks like this:

  • power cord NOT connected: doing a short press lets the power LED go green for around 5 to 10 seconds, then it goes off again
  • power cord CONNECTED: the power LED goes green for around 5 to 10 seconds, then it goes off again.

I checked that this is not an issue with the LEDs being set to off via a schedule, because the device does not show as “online” in goodcloud.xyz, where I put it exactly for the case when I’m remote and need to fix the wifi for my girlfriend (as I’m now).

Can you help me how we might fix this or what could cause this?
I don’t want her to reset the router because she’d have to repair the settings without my help due to the missing uplink.

Since the device will turn itself on while charging (no manual power button press required) I would say you should keep it at the charger to make sure it will boot up. I had the same issue a few weeks ago, and the LED being turned off was indeed the issue.

Does she see the Wi-Fi after the device should be online? Maybe you can't see it on GoodCloud because there is a general connection issue, and the LED being turned off tricks you into thinking the device is broken?
