Dunno if this helps but I went into Luci and looked at Kernel logs

Unplugged USB and then plugged in

Samsung 830 SSD 256 gb in a UGreen type-C enclosure
HGST 1TB in a typc-C enclosure

Both NTFS formatted

I did suspect a powering issues so I added a Orico 4-port USB3.0 hub which has external power. The HGST 1TB drive fails to boot up simply plugged into the router but using the hub with external power, it boots up fine.

It is best not to add a hub for now to keep things simple and just test with the Samsung SSD which is low-powered.

OK I have tried to follow your suggestions

For the first sugggestion I installed luci-app-samba. I go to the Luci Gui and log in but under system menu I do not see Mount Points. Please see below screenshot -

If I look under network share I see the below which shows the GL-Samba folder which I have been talking about. When I //192.168.8.1/ all I see is this GL-Samba folder

I then tried method 2 and removed kmod-fs-ntfs and this made no difference. I restarted device and still nothing.

When I go back to the Luci GUI and look under Kernal Log I see the below when I unplug and plug in my USB HD. So it is definitely detected -

The GL-iNet UI sets up a default share for name GL-Samba and directory /mnt. The LuCi UI sees this also, but LuCI is more powerful and allows multiple shares and mount points with your own names and directories.

You can confirm that the USB drive is mounted before you can share it, either in LuCI → System → Mount Points (above post) or in SSH (should show lines for USB drive):

Regarding, removing kmod-fs-ntfs, only do that if both the kmod-fs-ntfs and ntfs-3g packages are installed because they have a conflict.

OK block-mount was not installed, the rest were. So i installed block-mount and restarted router.

Now in Luci gui I see Mount Points under system. I now go back to previous post to follow the guide.

/dev/sda1 does not show up so I continue to the second half of the guide which says -
“If /dev/sda1 does not show up in the Device box, the you have to go into SSH and type the command “block detect”, which will detect the USB drive and display its UUID”

I entered command block detect with USB plugged in and without. I get the following -

Just for laughs and before you upgrade to 3.211, can you test using a USB stick, instead of SSD and HDD.
It would be useful to know whether GL-MT1300N has a problem working with a simple USB stick.

I simply updated to 3.211 and all seems to be working.

In windows explorer I type 192.168.8.1 enter, I see GL-Samba folder, and in this folder I now see my Samsung 830 SSD contents.

I do not need a packed firmware , but an unpacked one , the router chip is 32 megabytes, to restore it , this is the usual firmware does not work , I need a full unpacked firmware dump

Have you tried flashing the link I sent in uBoot? An unpacked firmware is not going to help you, but you can build a tar file with the gl-infra-builder if you want.

Others cannot dump whole 32MByte flash data to you, as each router contains unique info.

If in case you lost the factory data, you should talk to technical support, giving your mac address to ask for factory data.

But if you lost uboot, then it is a brick.
