New firmware version 4.8 being released for beta testing

Hi. Thanks for your effort. I live in Germany, and the message is from Vodafone, my provider.

The GL-MT6000 is connected to a Vodafone modem running in bridge mode.

It's a little annoying because the notification from Vodafone always comes 48 hours later and I have no idea how to find out how to fix the problem, if there is one.

The message reads:

Open DNS Resolver
ip address: 178.26.133.6 source_port: 53 service: dns_resolver asn: 3209 transport protocol: udp.

This message started with the 4.8 beta.

I've now installed 4.7.7 and will see if the Vodafone message disappears. I don't have the drop-in gateway enabled.

Is this your MT6000 WAN IP?

May I know where does the message from? Please try confirming with your ISP Vodafone.

Thanks for checking the version.

I'm not sure if I'm the only encountering this, but DHCP and DNS page in Luci seems a bit buggy, thought I'd mention it.

I have now found out that port 53 is opened by AdGuard “AdGuad Home manages device requests”.

Only on the LAN side.
I guess there is a firewall rule rejecting all incoming connections from wan side.

I did a factory reset and updated my GL-X3000 to the newest firmware.

Everything seems to work well so far except I noticed this weird glitch in the Web UI:

I don't think it's just the LAN port. When I run the test, I'm connected to the mobile internet (LTE). As soon as I activate the AdGuardHome function, the port opens.

What did you do? I also see old versions on my all gl.inet routers on Tailscale...

Would have been nice at least to have the AmneziaWG client. So we can connect to our own self hosted AmneziaWG servers.

Can confirm Adguard home seems to open port 53 to the world.
Even though there is a Firewall rule in Luci to drop it, it seems to not take affect.

This is not good..getting some randoms succesfully resolving DNS on my router!

Can confirm turning off "AdGuard Home Handle Client Requests" stops it from being open to the world.

Interesting: I don't see that. (4.8.0b3)

Welcome back from May Day holiday, @bruce

I see this too! but only two panels, not the 4 that you're seeing.
They seem to hold entirely different settings as well i.e. changing a setting in one level doesn't change the setting in the other.

It should be reject, not drop. Try changing and rescanning.

Either reject or drop should block it. Makes no difference in the end results.

I just updated my Beryl AX from 4.7.4 to 4.8 beta3.

I noticed that I cannot access my router via goodcloud (GUI).

When I try to connect i get a new page with "Loading...", but the GUI does not open.

Is that functionality currently broken?

The router shows up in goodcloud, and I'm able to show details from that router, also rebooting the router does work.

Getting the same on my MT6000 Flint 2 with 4.8.0, can't access the Web GUI using Goodcloud.
