Newbie problem - Timeout on 192.168.8.1

Hi.

Just joined this forum. Any straightforward help would be appreciated.
I am definitely not a techie and am finding it difficult to get this mini router sorted. I have the instructions and it seems OK but when I try to connect to 192.168. 8.1 I keep getting a time out message. Have tried it on phone using mobile data in case problem with my broadband. No different. I am in my tablet and other websites working fine so cannot find out why I can’t connect to this page.
Any guidance please?

Hi
with a cable plunged in to the Lan side
1st check that you are connected to the modem login etc eg 192.168.1.1
then open a new tab and type in 192.168.8.1 etc
also try a different browser
