Newbie- troubleshooting adding VPN to GLiNet router

Hi all. I recently got a GL-MT3000 travel router. I set it up, connected to WIFI, it was going and we were looking all good. Then I did the manual download from NordVPN and successfully added into the router dash. The dash offered me various locations to route from and I selected one and it just stayed orange forever and disconnected my internet through the router. So I reset the router and tried another same result.
I’m thinking there’s a firewall in the WIFI, but I’m not sure how to override it.
Also, I am extremely non technical, but I am good at following instructions.

Help please.

Hello,

If your phone connected to the primary WiFi, and Check if the phone is able to connect to NordVPN and Internet normally.

Please share the VPN log of router.

Hi Bruce! Thanks for your response. I was able to connect using Wireguard instead of openvpn. Not really sure what the original issue was.
