No automatic reconnects after disconnects by 5G provider

Hi everyone, GL-XE3000 sometimes disconnects from the 5G/4G network from o2 in Germany - providers fault. However, my 5G router doesn´t reconnect automatically again. I have to manually click on “Abort” and “Manual Setup” to reconnect in the UI. What I noticed, it shows 4G when there was a disconnect. No APN changes or any changes are being made by me, everything stays there the same. It is annoying, that I have to manually always reconnect. Why can´t the router auto-connect? Firmware Version 4.7.4 from 2025-03-17.

Hello,

Please try uploading the router firmware to snapshot v4.8.3:

With this version, we have developed some mechanisms to ensure cellular connection. Please test in this firmware whether it can automatically reconnect.

That one has even more bugs. I uploaded now the 4.8.3 (2025-10-23) and I can´t set Wifi Passwords, and my Wifi is “open for everyone without password” even I reset the firmware settings and restarted the router. It is really annoying that I paid 500€ for a router that doesn´t work reliable.

Hello,

There may be some format or parameter errors in the router's wireless configuration file, causing the UI "WIRELESS" to not display properly.

  1. You can reset the firmware and reset passwords, including Admin Panel and WiFi.
  2. If no luck, please share your router with us via GoodCloud, I would like to remote check your router.

Please PM me your router MAC address and the Admin Panel password.

Hi bruce, thanks for the reply. A firmware reset from 192.168.8.1 didn´t work. So I made a hardware reset by pushing the button, uploaded an older firmware and then uploaded the newest firmware again. That solved the issue. Pushing the reset button somehow worked compared to resetting it from the GUI.

Thank you for your update. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

Generally, the reset firmware in GL GUI and hardware reset button should be the same works.
