Usually not it’s as a router with openvpn but I just tested everything to see if internet is working.
In diagnostic I performed a trace route :
traceroute to lede-project.org (139.59.209.225), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 192.168.178.1 0.306 ms
2 212.66.71.126 5.916 ms
3 212.66.71.125 3.966 ms
4 62.69.146.102 7.529 ms
5 *
6 139.59.209.225 10.403 ms
And in the activated routes I have the following :
Active IPv4-Routes
| Network |
Target |
IPv4-Gateway |
Metric |
Table |
| wan |
0.0.0.0/0 |
192.168.178.1 |

In the UI I would say I have the following (I tried to use the Google’s DNS):
Cable Connection
| Protocol |
dhcp |
| Cable |
Connected |
| IPAddr |
192.168.178.21 |
| Netmask |
255.255.255.0 |
| Gateway |
192.168.178.1 |
| DNS |
8.8.8.8 |
|
8.8.4.4 |
For the firmware if I take gl-ar300m-3.0-1011_clean.tar I will be able to use openvpn (since it’s not OpenWRT) ?
I hope I answered to your questions
