No internet connection for iOS and Android phones

I have a Slate AX that has been mothballed for a year. This week I took it out to begin using it again for some business purposes. I manually reset the entire router (the original settings were forgotten) and then set up some basic parameters on a tether wifi to a public service. For some reason, my comp connects just fine and I can acces the UI and internet. However, none of my Android or iOS devices will connect to the internet. They connect to the wifi, but the internet connection is broken. Mind you, I have only minimal options setup right now (LAN IP address and address range were the only thing that is different). Any ideas?

I would recommend upgrading to the latest available firmware (or even beta) if possible: GL.iNet download center

I'm on 4.6.11 already. This is the current version according to the webpage.

Do both the 2.4G and 5GHz WiFis fail to access the Internet?

If the computer is also connected to the router via WiFi, can it access the network and the UI?

Try modifying the DNS of Android phones and iOS devices.

Both bands fail to connect to the internet. My comp can access the UI and internet just fine. I had the DNS settings for the router set to Cloudflare and I changed this back to automatic (upstream wifi provider was using 8.8.8.8). Still the issue persists. DNS for the clients (iOS and Android) is also set to auto.

My only wonder is if somehow the admin can monitor devices such as these on their network and somehow limit the number of devices connected from the other end...

Your computer connects to the router via WiFi and can access the UI and the Internet normally. Can other clients (iOS and Android) successfully connect to WiFi? After connecting, do they obtain IP addresses successfully?

Could you please check if you haven’t set up a blacklist/whitelist.

Will upgrading to the latest v4.8.0 beta version (upgrade without retaining configurations) work?

I completely reset the router again and everything is connecting fine. Now I will go through the settings one by one until I find the one that prevents iOS and Android devices from connecting.

More to come...
