When using the built-in NordVPN option with TCP selected, it pulls down port 1231-1234. This does not work on restrictive networks where only outgoing to 80/443 is allowed.
This seems to be a recent change, since previously (~6 months ago?) this worked.
Additionally, when manually downloading an ovpn config from NordVPN, it uses port 80.
Could the built-in downloader be updated to support manually selecting ports? Or forced to default to a commonly unblocked port when using the TCP option? People not on restrictive networks are likely to use UDP anyway.
Yes, currently NordVPN OpenVPN uses TCP/UDP ports 1231-1234 and does not include ports such as 80/443/1194.
We will discuss this with our product team and see whether we can add support for these ports in future versions.
For now, you may still obtain the OpenVPN profile directly from NordVPN to use these ports.
