Not_robust_unicast_frame on 2.4GHz

On a Beryl GL-MT3000 running v4.2.3, I see an unending stream of logged messages in repeater mode when the Internet-side network is 2.4GHz. The connection goes down about once a minute. It is perfectly stable and no messages when connected at 5GHz.

I tried resetting the configuration and using default settings. The behavior was the same:

[ 469.720575] 7981@C15L1,PMF_PerformRxFrameAction() 1492: [PMF] : NOT_ROBUST_UNICAST_FRAME, FC->SubType=13 (wcid=1)
[ 469.769203] 7981@C15L1,PMF_PerformRxFrameAction() 1492: [PMF] : NOT_ROBUST_UNICAST_FRAME, FC->SubType=13 (wcid=1)
[ 470.712289] 7981@C15L1,PMF_PerformRxFrameAction() 1492: [PMF] : NOT_ROBUST_UNICAST_FRAME, FC->SubType=13 (wcid=1)
[ 471.639813] 7981@C15L1,PMF_PerformRxFrameAction() 1492: [PMF] : NOT_ROBUST_UNICAST_FRAME, FC->SubType=13 (wcid=1)
[ 471.737200] 7981@C15L1,PMF_PerformRxFrameAction() 1492: [PMF] : NOT_ROBUST_UNICAST_FRAME, FC->SubType=13 (wcid=1)

The problem turned out to be triggered by aggressive band steering from Unifi APs, with the Beryl set so it was forced to stay on 2.4 GHz.

Neat. I’m glad you got it sorted. Feel free to mark that ‘Solution’ to let others know.
