I'm dealing with an issue in flint2 in openwrt version 25 beta3 which was also present in beta 2. The bitrate is extremely low and at 2.4 and 5 ghz, 30 mbt from 576mbt which would be normal at 20 mhz does anyone else have this problem?

@argvas The 54 Mbit/s shown at the top does not refer to the maximum speed of the 2.4 GHz band, but rather to the current PHY rate of the radio interface (`radio0`).

In 4.9.0 stable it showed 576 at 20mhz and 1148 at 40mhz and 4800 fps In 4.9.0 constant it showed 576 at 20mhz and 1148 at 40mhz and 4800 at 5 ghz In 4.9.0 it showed 576 at 20mhz and 1148 at 40mhz and 4800 at 5ghz at 160mhz. And of course all atht6 has an impact on the speed it gives me 80 to 100mbps out of the 700 I normally get.

I don't have any Wi-Fi speed issues at all. When connected to the 5 GHz network, I get Wi-Fi link speeds of around **1,100 Mbps**. My internet connection is only limited by my ISP's **55 Mbps upload speed**.

Debug version worked quite well for few days with no significant issues. Clean-installed OP25 Beta 3 for the flint 2 just now and as soon as VPN client is on, the internet connection goes dead. Looks like this version is still far from prime time.

I installed Beta 3 from Uboot (Since I normally run OpenWRT). After Beta 3 was installed I restored backup from Beta 1. Checked everything was OK and customized OpenWRT side of things with Starlink plugin. Argon Theme, etc. etc. Everything in my setup was working fine. (VPN worked without issue). Backed everything up in new backup file after I confirmed everything was running OK in my setup. Then reflashed OpenWRT Snapshot and restored everthing. I do this just to see the updated GL.inet firmware and confirm it’s working (for me) and backup config file. Just incase I need to travel I put the GL.inet firmware on it.

The **Bitrate** display logic in Luci Wireless is different between **OpenWrt 25 (or Vanilla)** and the **proprietary firmware (MTK SDK)**:

- **OpenWrt 25 (Vanilla)** shows the highest negotiated rate among the clients currently connected to the corresponding band (2.4/5/6 GHz).Please note that this information is not synchronized in real time, so the displayed value may vary from the actual current rate.

 ![image690x418](https://forum-static.gl-inet.com/original/3X/b/7/b7e4e9df0efba40f4026ce2ed454db3db5b2928f.png)

- **MTK SDK** shows the maximum theoretical rate that the current band configuration can achieve, regardless of whether any client is connected or what the actual negotiated rate is.

> On **v4.9.0** , we introduced a new kernel module to handle port forwarding in order to provide more consistent behavior in certain scenarios.

Therefore, the rules were migrated from `/etc/config/firewall` to `/etc/config/port_forward`.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

However, we tried reproducing the issue locally but were unable to reproduce it.

 ![image](https://forum-static.gl-inet.com/original/3X/5/6/5683bded1741fd15599c4022dfadd28a0f5a9091.png)

Could you please try again? If the issue still occurs, could you provide the steps to reproduce it (for example, the VPN-related settings, VPN provider, and other relevant configurations)?

The problem is not that it appears in a different way: In the stable version 4.9.0 at 2.4 ghz it shows 1148 bitrate and I was reaching a speed of 280mbps, in the openwrt version 25 beta3 it shows 60 bitrate and the speed I get is 120 to 160 mbps.

Thanks @will.qiu . That's really strange. I have been using Windscibe with exactly the same config file I used with the debug version. Will possibly try again after a Uboot install on this occasion.

There is a difference between the wireless drivers used by the stock firmware and OP25. Therefore, in some scenarios or with certain devices, performance differences are expected.

Could you please test and compare **Vanilla OpenWrt** and **OP25** under the same conditions?

If their performance is similar, then the difference is likely related to the upstream OpenWrt wireless driver, and support may need to be sought from the upstream community.

This sounds a bit unusual.

We checked and confirmed that the relevant kernel module should already have been included in **v4.9.1-op25 Beta 1** and later versions, including the debug firmware.

Could you provide the exact upgrade path (from which v4.8.x version to which version), and whether **Keep Settings** was enabled during the upgrade or imported the backup files from v4.8.x after upgrading, so that we can try reproducing the issue locally?

Right now I'm back back to stable 4.9.0, and everything is flawless.I also notice a huge difference in noise notice 55dbm In stable version 4.9.0 and 92dbm noise in openwrt version 25 beta3

The performance has a huge deviation in 4.9.0 at 2.4 my speed is 280 with 320mbps in the openwrt version 25 beta3 up to 80mbps. It is clear that with Vanilla drivers that the stable version 4.9.0 has works flawlessly While at openwrt25 With media tek drivers there is an issue

I setup beta1 fresh and then went to the debug, keeping the settings and then went to beta3, again keeping the settings. I’m not certain if I checked the firewall settings while on debug, but I definitely saw the missing FW forwards on beta3 and had to copy the file over manually and restart the FW service to have it take effect.
At the same time, this is likely to affect a very small list of users, since I assume most people didn’t use beta1/debug due to the issues with the reboot/lockup.
What I can tell you is that going from 4.9 op24 to 4.9.1 op25 broke too many things and that’s why I decided to start fresh
