As long as you configured the custom DNS server in GL GUI > NETWORK > DNS (like your router screenshot), currently all DNS requests from the router LAN clients will go to the custom DNS server (prerequisite, the client's DNS server is the router LAN IP, for example 192.168.8.1, your PC screenshot is right).
It will not broadcast the custom DNS server to the client's network card configuration, and your all DNS configurations are no problem.
But if you need to broadcast/distribute this DNS server to the client while the DHCP IP is being done, you need to configure in Luci > Network > Interface > lan (br-lan) > edit > DHCP Server > Advanced settings:
