Hello.
No more access to a web server after updating the local Opal gl-sft1200 firmware from fw 4.3.25 to 4.8.3.
The web server does not have a public address. Access is done with a GoodCloud connection from the Opal network - Opal is main node Lan IP: 192.168.10.1 - Mango MT300N-V2 (fw 4.3.25) is distant node 1 Lan IP 192.168.8.1 - The site-to-site link is OK. The web server is remote 192.168.8.100.
Since the 4.8.3 upgrade on Opal, no more access to the web server 192.168.8.100. Before, with FW 4.3.25, access worked perfectly. Do you have any idea for a solution?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Thank you for the detailed information.
To help us determine whether the issue affects the entire remote LAN or only the web server, could you please confirm the following information?
- When upgrading the Opal from firmware v4.3.25 to v4.8.3, did you select Keep Settings, and after the upgrade, did you recreate the GoodCloud Site-to-Site network, or did you continue using the previous configuration?
- From a device connected to the Opal LAN, could you please test whether
192.168.8.1 and 192.168.8.100 can be pinged?
- When accessing the web server through the Opal, what exact error or symptom do you see, such as a timeout, connection refused, or an incomplete page?
If convenient, please also provide a screenshot of the GoodCloud Site-to-Site page showing both nodes and their LAN subnet information.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
Hi,
Thanks for your help !
Answering questions:
- “Keep Settings” was selected when upgrading Opal from fw v4.3.25 to fw v4.8.3
- GoodCloud was not recreated after upgrading. Previous configuration was kept.
- Ping of 192.168.8.1 is OK. No response for ping to 192.168.8.100
- When trying to access webserver through Opal fw v4.8.3, there is no answer then timeout.
Note that : Mango (192.168.0.1) has 3 clients: 2 IP Reolink cameras and 1 Web Server. Access to cameras are OK. Access to web server is no longer working.
Attached is screenshot of GC site to site.
Hi,
Thank you for providing the test results and the screenshot.
Since 192.168.8.1 and the two cameras connected to the Mango can still be accessed through the Site-to-Site network, the Site-to-Site tunnel and the basic routing between the two LANs appear to be working normally.
Could you please confirm the following information?
- When a device is connected directly to the Mango LAN, can it still ping and access the web server at
192.168.8.100 normally?
- If local access is normal, please check whether the web server has a default gateway configured and whether its firewall allows connections from the Opal subnet
192.168.10.0/24.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
Hi,
I have managed additional pings (from Opal LAN) and, (good news!), web server ping today is OK (Sent 4, Received 4, Lost 0). As a result all devices linked to Mango 192.168.8.1 are OK.
The problem with web server sounds as a routing issue with new fw of the Opal device, I feel.
Answering your questions:
- impossible to directly connect the Mango LAN because it is operating in a far remote location (600 kms)
- defaut gateway of the web server is 192.168.8.1 port 80
If you need more information about the web server => Serveur W.e.s. v2
Regards.
If usefull Mango clients …
Hi,
Thank you for the update.
We are glad to know that access to the web server has recovered.
Since the Mango and the other devices behind it remained accessible, this does not appear to have been a complete Site-to-Site connection failure.
If the issue occurs again, please feel free to contact us and we will assist you with further investigation.
Thank you for your cooperation and feedback.
Hi,
Thanks for your answer, but there is a misunderstanding.
The response of the web server is still not working, even if it is OK for ping. Previously with Opal FW v4.3.25 web server was perfectly working, now with FW 4.8.3 it is impossible to get any answer from it.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
Thank you for the additional information.
To help us investigate the current connection status further, could you please share both the Opal and Mango with GL.iNet Technical Support through GoodCloud?
You may follow the guide below to enable remote access and share the devices:
Please enable both Remote SSH and Remote Web Access on the two routers.
After completing the sharing, please send us the MAC addresses and temporary administrator passwords of both routers via private message.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
