Puli AX GL-XE3000 Cannot connect to 5G

Hi,

I just received my Puli AX 5G Router and it cannot connect to 5G at all, it only shows 4G+.

I tested with the same SIM card in my iPhone 12 and the I can get 5G signal and speeds of 300 Mbps, while in the Puli AX it’s limited to 4G+ and an average speed of 70 Mbps.

I am located in Saudi Arabia using STC network if it makes a difference.

Bumping this for attention, I got the Puli AX to upgrade from a 4G router and it’s basically not functional as a 5G router at the moment which is really disappointing.

Appreciate it if anyone has any idea on how to fix this.

Have you confirmed that the Puli supports the 5G bands that are used by your cellular provider?

My understanding is that the Puli AX is using a global 5G modem ( RM520N-GL ) which should be able to connect to 5G worldwide.

@mhtawfiq @doczenith1 - Good evening fellas. New to the community here. I’m having the same issue @mhtawfiq is experiencing with not being able to access 5G bands at my location. GL.iNet tech support indicated that 4G+ indicator is a way to say 5G is available by neighboring tower(s) via band aggregation, and not via dedicated 5G or 5G+ cells/bands. Quite frankly, not even at downtown Miami a few days ago, I was able to connect to a 5G or 5G+ cell, even when my phone was connected to 5G+ via AT&T’s n77 band. Any ideas on how to solve this issue will be greatly appreciated!

I’m using a snapshot-build ATM, and it resolves the same issue for me.
