Replace Huawei EchoLife HG8145V5

Hi!

I’m trying to replace an Huawei EchoLife HG8145v5 that came with our 3BB package in Thailand.

Is there a router from GL iNet that can be used to do that?

It appears that this device (Huawei EchoLife HG8145V5) is an ONT, which is responsible for converting the fiber connection to Ethernet.

At the moment, we do not have any routers with built-in ONT functionality that can directly replace this device.

However, you may consider switching the ONT to bridge mode and then using one of our routers to handle the PPPoE dial-up connection.

That said, you may need to consult your ISP to check whether any special configuration is required and to obtain the PPPoE account information. You can also try searching online using your ISP name + “bridge mode” to see whether other users have shared related guides or experiences.
