I have bought two GL.iNET A1300 (Slate Plus)
and I will be returning both to Amazon...
The product should have never passed QA testing.
DDNS does not work, and Reset to Factory bricks the device and locks it in that state... The lesser products (Shadow and Mango in comparison are flawless)
No I won't spend further time (hours) troubleshooting this, You, GL.iNet staff can easily reproduce the issue and push a firmware upgrade. It's not something for your customer to fix...
We sincerely apologize for the frustrating experience you’ve encountered with the A1300 devices. Your feedback is crucial to us, and we’re committed to solving these issues thoroughly.
We understand your dissatisfaction with the DDNS and factory reset problems. To get to the root of these glitches, we’d like to collaborate with you—either through a remote troubleshooting session at your convenience or by analyzing the full logs exported from the devices. This will help our team determine if it’s a firmware-related issue, configuration conflict, or other underlying cause.
Our support engineers are ready to dig into this, and we’ll work to identify solutions, including potential firmware adjustments if needed. We respect your decision to consider returning the devices, but hope you’ll give us a chance to resolve these problems.
If you still decide to return the product, please contact us at [email protected]. We will communicate with you and process your ticket as soon as possible.
Best regards,
No, thank you.
The issue has been reproduced on two A1300 devices.
You have my firmware version and can therefore easily reproduce the issue at your end without taking up more of my time since you don't need me to fix this.
Good luck, I hope this gets prioritized...
PS: I was able to restore using uboot, but this isn't expected behaviour. a factory reset should not brick the device.
Latest, stable I presume since I wouldn't complain about the stability of a beta (nor would I bother using a beta version unless I was experimenting). I have now downgraded from 4.5.22 firmware to v4.5.19 and so far so good. ddns is working, and I don't intend to try 4.5.22 again.
