Root password not working (/luci/admin/network/network)

Hi,

I can use my router admin password to access the GUI, can also use it to enter LuCI .
When I go the network settings another login pops up but this time the password does not work?

There are only two places where you are asked for the password. The main router gui and the Luci gui. Both passwords are what you initially set when setting up the router.

Try deleting your browser cache / cookies. You can also extend the logout timeout settings

Look for “Auto-Logout Time” in the main router gui settings and adjust that to help prevent logging out too quick.

Strange, I have needed to clear cache three times now to get password to work…
Enter password, no fail message, screen reloads asking for password again,
Clear cookies and password works.
After 5 minutes some timeout must happen and password does not work again,

Thanks, clearing cookies/cache worked. Can’t believe didn’t do that foirst!

I see there is an auto-logout after 5 minutes (can be changed), so presumably if i’m still in LuCI using different tab it logs out there and is cached.
So for prolonged setup/usage, change the logout time to avoid having to clear cookies every 5 mins.
