Under samba, with the options Share on LAN checkbox (auto checked and can’t be disabled) vs Share on WAN (by default unchecked).
What is the differnce between these options?
Share on LAN is share to the devices connecting to the router itself. This is generally why you want to share by default.
Share on WAN is share to the devices on the same network as the router. For example you have an office network, you connect the router to your office network and want to share the USB on the mini router to all the computers in your office, you can check the “share on WAN” option.
Any chance to have share on Lan optional like share on Wan?
Sorry there is no such option in our firmware. But you can modify manually or using Luci to control shares.
