Hello,
I have two devices, GL-E750 and GL-X3000. Both are configured with the same IMEI number. APN (VZWINTERNET) and protocol (QCM). I am using a Visible Wireless SIM card. When I insert the SIM card in the E750 it is able to connect to the carrier. When I insert it in the X3000 it is not able to connect.
Is there something else other than the IMEI that a carrier can use to detect a device? Has Visible somehow managed to detect and block by X3000 ?
The GX3000 works with an AT&T SIM card. It also used to work with Visible SIM cards. I initially had a Visible $25 dollar plan and the X3000 used to work fine. It stopped working when I upgraded the plan to $40. I canceled that account and created a brand new one with the $25 plan. The SIM card for the new account works on the E750 but not on the X3000. It is as if the carrier has permanently blocked my X3000. But I thought that the IMEI is the only device identifier that is transmitted. Am I wrong on this?
Here is the message I see on the X3000:
SIM card not registered
Some SIM cards have special usage restrictions, for example, the need to use a specific APN. If your SIM card cannot be registered, please check with your network operator to see if your SIM has any special restrictions.
