So just use my script and edit the cronjob accordingly

It can be easily done: just exclude the GL ddns domain from the vpn policy.
Frankly speaking, I would not recommend using gl ddns at all since it has been experiencing constant downtimes. You better find any alternative ddns provider and that’s it.
