Setting up a GL-MT300N-V2 as anVPN Server

I would like to use my GL-MT300N-V2 as a VPN Server behind my TP-Link VR2800 modem/router.
My GL-MT300N-V2 has the beta OpenVPN server software installed, but I want to be able to access the UK internet as well as my home LAN from abroad, France. This it will look like I have a UK based IP address to things like Google who insist on giving me French based results!
Yes I do know that my VR2800 has an OpenVPN Server built in BUT it tends to fall over and require a reboot every so often, and as I am away a lot, that rather ruins things. The VR2800 is very reliable when the OpenVPN isn’t running! So the answer seems to be add a router (GL-MT300N-V2) to the VR2800.

First off is this possible, i.e. accessing the internet through the GL-MT300N-V2 running OpenVPN Server?
Is there anything that needs changing in ‘Advanced’ to make it work?

I have fibre so my upload speed is a reasonable 20Mbps.

All help gratefully received.

Ian

You can upgrade to v3.x firmware, and refer to this link to set OpenVPN server up.
