Hello,

I was wondering if there were any updates on the Openwrt updates
Using the Openwrt image maker I noticed there was the option to compile an image for the siflower SF19A2890.
I just had to try making it and flashing it to my opal.
But I was unable to connect to it after flashing, so had to reinstall orig firm via uboot.
Trying to compile it again I went looking for the network drivers, and did not find any..
I think, since I am just a novice.

I would really like to run the latest Openwrt on it, so if I can help by testing anything let me know.

There seems to be no progress since February

Is there any chance we'll live to see the upgrade?

still no update? never thought opal1200 would not have latest openwrt updates

No update.

4.7.2 beta (version 2) is the latest so far. Dated 2025-04-21 it is an important improvement of the earlier 4.7.2 beta version 1. They improved some things in the SF19A2890 driver, and it starts now to be usable.

There are still some problems in the 5GHz (no DFS possible), but those are all things that depend on the SF19A28 driver (Siflower driver specific) , not on the OpenWrt version. So OpenWrt 18.06 or not is not the most important limitation for the SFT1200/OPAL.

Lets see when there is something new from GL.inet. I'm using mostly Cudy TR1200 now and this is also OpenWRT 18.06, but without problems, with good performance.

I ended up buying a Cudy TR3000, I should have done more research on this particular device & GL.iNet, mainly whether it was upstreamed to OpenWRT. The next stop for the SFT1200 is probably an electronics recycler.

true. i thought SFT1200 will get latest Openwrt. at least 20 version

yeah, i should have done more research before purchasing sft1200. main purpose i bought it to configure v2ray.
