Hi my friends!
I´d like to know which would be the best option to setp up or enable on my Flint 2´s NAS, to ocationally share some files to friends. But not to give them access to my Wireguard VPN; I´d like to set up some kind of "file server", of which I´d give them the credentials in the moment to share the file. Tanks in advance!
VPN is the only safe way to do this.
Hi admon! Thanks a lot for answering! Yes...I totally agree. Actually, that´s what I do for my own use: I have Wireguard server active on Flint 2, and have a Beryl AX as my Wireguard client, so I have access to my nas files wherever. It rocks! The point is sometimes, really ocationally, I have some file to send to a friend, a large file; and it´s really usefull to give him a set of "one use" credentials to let him download the file. Untill I´ve bought my Flint 2, I was doing that using "HFS" app (HFS ~ HTTP File Server). I lounch it, give him the credentials, and let him download the file from my pc. Now, with the gourgeous NAS of my Flint 2, I´d like to be able to achieve that, not depending of my pc.
The NAS feature of the Flint 2 only supports Samba, as far as I know (never used it, tbh)
Since Samba isn't made for sharing via the internet, you won't get much fun here.
It also supports WebDAV, which, if I´m not wrong, it´s safe and secure to use over the Internet. But I´m not sure, I´m newby, and I wouldn´t know what to indicate the other person to do, to connect and download, but not giving him access to my important stuff.
