Sierra mini pci-e MC7455 supported in MIFI?

I got a MC7455 card (it shows support for global band including Americas, Asia, Europe, etc.). I put it into a MIFI. It shows detected, but there is no ttyUSB*.

When I tried to connect to either T-Mobile or Verizon with working SIM card, it shows ‘connecting’…but no IP.

very interesting that this modem only have QMI mode and has two cdc-wdm device.

Seems there is a problem because the modem shows registered and then unregistered for several times.

Can you upload to firmware v2.261 if the version is older? There maybe a problem in setting up qmi mode.

Then can you try cdc-wdm0 as well?

You can post the content of /etc/config/network because we didn’t have experience to deal with two cdc-wdm device and the UI may post wrong settings to the mifi.

The firmware is updated to 2.261 (I also tested in 2.5 and 2.26)

I tried cdc-wdm0 and cdc-wdm1, on both T-Mobile and Verizon 4G LTE cards (both cards works on existing EC25-V and EC25-A cards in Mifi)

you need to put the modem in mbim mode.

I only have basic knowledge of Linux and strong in windows system. What’s the tool or command to do the mode switch once I have the adapter and plug into windows? Does it need any driver for the sierra card?

I have the NGFF version of this modem (EM7455) and I followed the instructions here to enable the COM ports (use the driver install/configuration.ini method on Windows). I have successfully enabled the COM ports, but the MiFi is still not detecting a modem.

Download huawei terminal My Huawei Terminal 0.32 / Программы / Загрузки - 3Ginfo

Connect mc7455 to computer. Conect to the modem port and type. ati then hit enter. If it gives out modem info your good, if not repeat on a different port.

Run on mc7455. (make sure your apn is r.ispsn, if not change it below)

AT!entercnd=“A710”

AT!USBCOMP=1,1,1009

AT+cgdcont=1,“IP”,“r.ispsn”

That will put it in mbim mode and add the apn to the mc7455

Do you mean I need to hard code APN into the sierra card? Can it be configured via the MIFI GLI UI?

Can anyone educate me about QMI, MBIM, COM, /etc/ttyusb* etc. and how they are related?
