Is there any way to add 4g to a Slate 7 which would show up as Cellular Modem?
I know there is the Development board but with the 5g module it is quite expensive and no case. I only really need a cheaper 4g solution as a Starlink backup.
I have tried a Huawei e3372a but that is only via tethering.

Slate 7 can use an external USB cellular modem as a backup Internet connection. For this type of USB modem, the connection may appear under INTERNET → Tethering rather than Cellular, depending on the modem’s operating mode.
Therefore, your Huawei E3372a being detected as a Tethering connection does not prevent it from being used as a backup connection for Starlink.

Slate 7 (GL-BE3600) can use an external Quectel cellular module and manage it through the Cellular page, provided that the module is connected through a suitable USB adapter and configured to operate in QMI mode.
You may consider a compatible Quectel 4G module that supports QMI mode, while ensuring that its frequency bands are compatible with your local carrier.
Please note that an external module may not support some advanced functions available on routers with built-in cellular modules, such as Lock Tower or Lock Operator.
