Sonoff Devices Losing Connection Every 3 to 6 Months Since Using AX1800

Dear GL.iNet Team,

I’ve been experiencing recurring issues with my Sonoff smart home devices, all connected via eWeLink, ever since I began using the AX1800 router in 2022. Every 3 to 6 months, one device becomes defective, losing the ability to pair. It cannot be detected in pairing mode, its Wi-Fi broadcast disappears in compatibility pairing, and it eventually fails to connect to the internet.

I’m not sure if this could be something triggered by a vulnerability from outside affecting my Sonoff devices, or if it could be an issue with Sonoff and eWeLink doing something for profit. I updated my AX1800 to firmware 4.6.4 and my B3000 to firmware 4.5.19 today, just for your information, as the issues have mostly occurred before this update.

Any advice or assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Probably related to the Sonoff IoT devices.

May I know how about the other devices? like other brand IoT devices, your pc, phone, etc?

These IoT devices is connected to the 2.4G wifi, can try to fix the channel 1 or 6 or 11, 20MHz

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your response.

All my other devices, including other brand IoT devices, my PC, and phone, are not affected by this issue—only my Sonoff devices seem to have this problem.

As for the Wi-Fi settings, I’ve always used a fixed channel, specifically channel 1, on 2.4GHz with 20MHz bandwidth.

Maybe when this problem happend, you can get the log from the router to have a check.

We can check if there are some log of the sonoff device on 2.4G.

I'll try to remember this, but pinpointing the exact time and date when it happened is quite challenging. If it did occur, I'm not sure if the logs would have captured it or missed it. I'm also unsure about the log retention period, how many days are the records kept, and when do they start and end? Can you enlighten me?

The log is saved in the RAM. New log will override old log.

You can increase the log size so that the log can be retained longer.

Remember reboot the router to let it take effect.
