Tailscale on Beryl AX3000 No Internet Using Exit Node

I've been working with this for a while and researching possible solutions. So far no luck.

I am using an Apple TV and a raspberry pi 5 as Tailscale exit nodes. I'm testing my configuration on various devices including the AX3000. The AX3000 will travel with me and route all traffic through the exit node.

I have tested my exit nodes with a Mac, iPhone and iPad and they all work flawlessly with either exit node selected.

When I set the AX3000 to use Tailscale without an exit node all of the connected devices work fine. None of them are running Tailscale when I test the router.

When I set a custom exit node on the router all connected devices can't access the internet. This is the same result for the Apple TV and the Raspberry Pi.

I see posts about setting up subnets and I do get an error one the router telling me to do so. But since all other devices work just fine using these exit nodes I wonder if this is necessary.

I did set up subnets on both exit nodes with the same result.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Is there LAN subnet that allows MT3000 in the Tailscale center?

If yes, then SSH to the MT3000:
Can see the exit node gateway? > ip route
Can ping the TS virtual IP of other devices in the Tailnet or the IP of the exit node? > ping TS IP

I'm not sure what I had configured incorrectly but router is working through all exit nodes now.

I have three exit nodes. Two raspberry pis and one Apple TV. They all have a default installation.

The Beryl AX3000 may have been the problem. It is possible that I didn't set up the subnet route correctly. Also I may not have given the router enough time to connect when changing between exit nodes.

Thanks for the help.
