Hi
Please refer to the release notes for SFT1200 v4.8.3 beta.
Due to how Tor operates, it needs to retrieve information about all Tor nodes and store it in local memory for use. As the number of Tor nodes has grown significantly, the SFT1200 no longer has sufficient memory to handle this, which may cause the Tor feature to malfunction.
As a result, this feature has been removed.
Is there any way to bypass this? It’s very annoying and I know before it often didn’t always work, but it sort of did at times and was useful in certain situations.
I used to use the feature all the time. After Tor was enabled, sometimes the router would freeze an be inaccessible for several minutes, but it usually eventually would connect. I understand not having it in the interface by default, but can you at least allow the package for users who understand the low risk of crashing and are patient? I don’t need the UI to visually update while the CPU maxes out and the ram is nearly full, as long as it connects and works 5-10 minutes later, which it did before.
I am okay with the risk, I can always uboot in a worst case situation, I want the feature.
As a loyal GL.inet customer, I am pleading with you to please make this package available somehow, even if it may cause issues for some users who are impatient.
