Unable to set up WireGuard client

I just bought a Beryl AX and Slate AX. I am using the Beryl AX as my router connected at home, and want to use my Slate AX as my travel router. As like most folks here, I want to use Wireguard so that I can have the IP address of my Slate AX as the IP address at home (e.g. what the Beryl AX would have). On my Beryl, I was able to set up the Wireguard server, but when trying to set up the client on the Slate AX, it is not successful as it keeps on saying

"The client is starting, please wait…"

During this time, the Slate AX is unable to connect to any internet as the Wireguard client is trying to initialize/get set up. What am I doing wrong here?

Please check How to troubleshoot WireGuard - I asssume you use the same IP for the network on both sides, this won't work.

Hi there, I logged into various different wifi networks including a guest network, my cell phone, public wifi for Comcast and a library public internet in my neighborhood for the travel router.

Connecting on public internet source (different than home) I still am getting:

Please provide an overview of the settings on both ends. What IPs do you use for example? What ISP?

I use AT&T as my internet service provider (ISP). The default IP address for the internet is 192.168.1.254 (home router), and I was using attempting to use guest internet IP address for 192.168.80.1 for travel router. I also was trying to connect to xfinitywifi with IP address 172.20.20.20 to connect for the travel router, to try to ensure having different internet for each of the routers. Still, no luck.
