Hi.
I’ve got my new router today, started using and got some random reboots.
I am attaching the log before the factory reset under the name crash_before_defaults.log.zip crash_before_defaults.log.zip (6.6 KB)
Then I reset to factory settings, but the reboot also happened. I am attaching the log under the name crash_after_defaults.log.zip crash_after_defaults.log.zip (7.5 KB)
After that, I changed the firmware to the beta version, an hour passed using it, there was no reboot yet.
I also uploaded the logs to chatgpt and asked what the problem was, he gave me the following message:
The log indicates that your router is experiencing a crash involving the wireless driver (ath11k). The relevant lines show that the issue is connected to the ath11k_core_ssr_notifier_cb and ath11k_hal_dump_srng_stats functions, which are associated with the router’s wireless subsystem.
I'm using attached adapter.
I did not do anything with the router before the unexpected reboot.
Configuration: 5Ghz network with vpn wireguard + guest wifi without vpn. 2.4ghz was disabled
GoodCloud was turned on.
ip reservation by mac address one of client
On the temporary firmware the router worked for about an hour, without reboots, then I changed the firmware back, since I need wireguard to work, and on the temporary it does not work.
I am using beta 4.6.2. After installing the firmware, the first reboot occurred after 13 hours, then it worked for 3 days without reboots. Today, when I went to install the firmware you sent me, I found no logs and the operating time was 3 hours (and it should be 3 days).
I'm sorry, but I can't find how to get into private messages, please tell me.
The 4.6.2 should be a stable version. Now it can work 3 days without reboot, did you find some situation, when someone Wi-Fi device connected, then router crash?
I assume that perhaps one of the devices known to the router was reconnecting from the guest Wi-Fi network to the main one, I can't say whether this was before the reboot, since I did not monitor this. These are just my guesses. There have been no new devices connected since my first post. Only after flashing the router, I connected the same set of devices.
Is the syslog from the test firmware? It is not required.
Probably it was related to the kernel, and the kernel will be updated soon, kindly await the beta firmware.
I have also been having random reboots running version 4.6.2. Seems to be roughly once or twice a day. Possibly timed with new clients rejoining the network but I can't be 100%.
@bruce if there is a latest beta to try, I'm willing to try it
