I would say that anywhere from about SFO or San Mateo down to San Jose would be reasonable for people for a weekend event. Parking in San Francisco itself is challenging and costs more for a day than many of your routers sell for in USD. Week nights are harder as the traffic can be pretty bad from 4 PM through 7 PM and 30 miles on the peninsula can take an hour and a half or more to drive during commute hours.

“San Jose” is a pretty big area. At least for me, going much farther southeast than 17 / 280 is a stretch. Others may disagree, but, for me, down by 85 south of 17 or the portions along 101 southeast of 280 are pretty far south (labeled East San Jose, South San Jose, Evergreen, Robertsville, Alamitos,…). At least for me, Sunnyvale, Cupertino and even down into Los Gatos are OK.

From Google Maps

San Jose is one option, it can be Sunnyvale, Cupertino or Menlo Park. We will decide the location on early January.

FWIW, any city that’s along/near the CalTrain stops would be ideal and probably increase participation. This includes Redwood City and Palo Alto.

Hi all, we just confirm the location. It’s in 3116 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, CA 94306, United States.
It’s only a 10 minute drive to Stanford Campus, downtown Palo Alto, Caltrain, and Hwy 101. Welcome to join us! Since we need the actual number of attendees to prepare snacks and drinks, please sign up via the link: http://eepurl.com/dOO7En

Looks like a great meetup over in the Bay Area…

Up until last spring, I was working over in Santa Clara (10 minute ride from SJC), would have been happy to host a meet up…

Looks like next meet up with devs is in Barcelona - I’ve done the MWC - it’s crazy hard/expensive, but worth it for connections.

Props to the team - many vendors try not to have the close interaction.
