I bought the GL-SFT1200 a week ago and hooking everything up was easy and great. Everything in the house works as it should....except one major problem, my wife and I both stopped getting calls and SMS on our Verizon phones. This includes being able to call out for send SMS.
I've only got 1 more week before I can return so I hope someone can help quickly before I need to just go buy something else.
Do your cell phones use WiFi for signal in the house? Regular LTE service should have nothing to do with your new router.
If you rely on WiFi calling, are your phones successfully connected to the router's WiFi ? Can the phones access the internet ?
My phones do use Wi-Fi for calling when I get home and I want to keep it that way. It has worked fine with my previous router for years. I only upgraded to this for the gigabit hard line. Other than that my old router still works and the problem goes away when I revert back to it.
WiFi calling is fine - I use it myself because I'm on the fringe of the LTE signal.
However - you do need to check if your phone can access the internet via WiFi. Is that working?
Edit - also for troubleshooting, disable any features you may have turned on the GL router such as AdGuard Home or DNS filters...
Both phones can access the Internet when on the WiFi. All the router settings are currently on default.
If I was smart enough, I’d investigate what port / protocol was used by phones for WiFi calling to see if they were blocked somehow. I have a Flint 2 MT6000 and my iPhones work fine with WiFi calling. My setup is pretty basic - the only features I’ve changed has been to enable AdGuard and a Wireshark vpn service.
