Exploit out for critical Realtek flaw affecting many networking devices

Exploit code has been released for a critical vulnerability affecting networking devices with Realtek's RTL819x system on a chip (SoC), which are estimated to be in the millions.

TL;DR an attacker can disrupt or even gain total control over devices with RTL819x chipsets simply by sending a single specially crafted UDP packet. Severity of this bug is a 9.8 out of 10, and proof-of-concept exploit code has been published.

Time to update firmware on all Realtek devices.

Realtek chipset are used in a lot of mesh devices I think.

Yes. GL.iNet device are not affected.
