I just configured Wireguard using VPN unlimited. I have it conneted and operating but it is KILLING my speeds. I’m normally getting around 55Mps and with the VPN is about 15. I read Wireguard shouldn’t drop the speed so I’m guessing I have something set up wrong. What can I look at?
Update: A little research suggests the CPU in the x750 isn’t powerful enough for the VPN to run optimally.

You most likely have MTU issues. You should be able to have at least 40Mbps Wireguard speeds.
40 is still a good bit slower, but what are MTU issues and how would I resolve that?

There are a lot of threads about it, here are some:
I had to add mtu_fix to the firewall wireguard zone configuration to prevent mtu stalls when browsing to some web sites. Please add this to the standard configuration.
I added
uci set firewall.wireguard.mtu_fix=‘1’
to the /etc/init.d/wireguard script
I added it to the wireguard_add_firewall function in the section that creates the wireguard zone.
This makes the Slate travel router with wireguard a great product.
Thanks
Hello, how can I set a persistent MTU for a Wireguard client connection?
The following works but doesn’t survive reboots:
ip link set wg0 mtu 1320
Is there an option for this in /etc/config/wireguard?
