I was trying to set this up in the US. The wire graud was not work and had to catch a flight us I tried the VPN and it is still not working.

From where (which country) do you connect to the router and which ISP?
Do you have the possibility to connect to the router via GoodCloud or SSH or something like that?

i am trying to set this up in the US for travel

So from US to US?

To whom are you trying to connect? VPN provider or router at home?

Both, neither one is working for me

Does your current provider allow VPN connections at all?
How do you connect? Please follow these instructions to get us a better view: How to get support quickly

I really needed to use my home VPN, but wire guard is not working so I switched to the OPEN VPN and that is not working I factory reset the router and it is still not working. I Tried from my friend house, and it does not work.

I am now wondering if the device is defective.

Yes i am using Nord VPN and it works find as a standalone VPN, when i login via my PC

NordVPN uses different credentials for OpenVPN. These are not the one you need for login on PC!
Please consult the NordVPN dashboard and get the OVPN login credentials.
