Webcam not working with GL AR-300

i have router GL AR300 and a web camera logitech C310. webcam working perfect with original GLinet firmware at first but suddenly no picture at GL.inet interface.

reset was done but no luck. i think no problem with webcam because had been tested On PC and no problem.

thanks for help

Hi,

  1. did you install software packages?
  2. can you still see the devices "/dev/video0" in webcam setting page?
  3. Can you ssh to your device and get the output of "dmesg" and post here?
  1. i think “yes”. they are default GL.inet ar300 firmware version 2.13

  2. yes, please refer to attachment

  3. dmesg

The log seems fine! You are fulling utilizing the device: storage, camera, repeater …

Now I think it is the problem of mjpg-streamer or firewall.

  1. Are you connected to the router directly, using cable or wifi?
  2. check if mjpg-streamer is running. us "ps -w" and give the output please
  3. If mjpg-streamer is not running, do this and give the output "/etc/init.d/mjgp-streamer restart".
  4. If the above is fine, then it maybe a problem of the firewall.

now mjpg-streamer totally disappear

when you restart mjpg-streamer, did you see some output? if not, do a “dmesg” immediately to show if there is some message. Please post output.

seems mjpg-streamer process is ok right now. maybe just little bit lag. but still no luck with cam

Change resolution and try again.

It’s advisible to try some different mainly used video resolutions like 320x240, 640x480, 1280x102, 1280x720, etc.

When I try my Mini UVC webcam from GLi at a resolution of 1024x768 for example I got crambled images or even no output because the combination of UVC drivers and the supported for it within the webcam is not always ideal.

The supported resolutions of the Mini UVC webcam from GLi can be found at the webshop page: 404 Page not found - GL.iNet I can confirm the resolutions mentioned there are indeed the only correct working ones.

This poage can be handy to determine which resolutions are supported by which webcams on Linux: RPi USB Webcams - eLinux.org
As you can see the Logitech C310 should work, but there are no confirmed correct working resolutions.
