What router do I need to choose

Hello,

I'm going on a cruise where WiFi is provided after authentication via web interface. So you connect to open WiFi hotspot then authenticate via webinterface (browser) and you get connectivity on that device (phone or laptop). I want to use a router as such device which will in turn will run as gateway for all other devices I have with me. Is it possible with GL routers if it is then which model support this setup?

You may want to search through this forum, as it seems very hit/miss to get a router to work on a cruise ship, depending on the router, the firmware level, and the cruise line.

Royal Caribbean have banned routers on their ships.

How cruise ship can possibly know that one is using router

They have multiple ways.

Gold standard would be DPI to check the traffic.

Hmm, how DPI would work with encrypted traffic

Encrypted traffic isn't that encrypted that you can't DPI it.

Some cruise lines are reportedly searching/scanning luggage for contaban including routers. I'm sure one could train an AI on what an x-ray image of a gl inet router looks like.
