This is a fascinating thread I chanced upon after searching ‘streaming’. First time poster here, and not trying to hijack this thread. Wasn’t sure if your talking upload or just download speeds.
I was looking for a portable router and found the the GL series. Very Cool! With the Open source sensibility and VPN etc, I am sold. But given I want to do periodic live streams (outbound upload not download) I am taking note of the speeds.
As mentioned by wcs2228 5Mbps for HD 1080p and
H.265 video encoding, only 2.5 Mbps will be required
. Is the 600Mbps(2.4GHz) ample for streaming outbound, using Ethernet or wifi? Infact are any of the GL series ample to stream HD?
Also, can WiFi be switched off and use Ethernet only.
Thanks in advance.
