Wi-Fi 7 extension?

I replaced my Wi-Fi 6 mesh router with a Flint 3, but I have a ‘dead spot’ now in my bedroom. It's not far from the Flint 3, but something must be messing with the signal because it is very poor in there.

I replaced the mesh with a single router because I had issues with overlap where my devices would drop connection and have a hard time deciding whether to connect to the router or the satellite in those areas that the signal overlapped.

I read something about a protocol for fast switching that the Flint 3 supports but that needs to be manually enabled. I was wondering if I got a Slate 7 to serve as as extension if that would work on that as well. Also, does the Flint 3/Slate 7 support a wired uplink when one is serving as a satellite? Would I be better off with 2 Flint 3s?

Thanks!

Hi

The Slate 7 also supports 802.11k/v/r.
You can configure it directly in Luci - Network - Wireless - Click the Edit button next to the SSID, then navigate to WLAN roaming.

Yes, Flint 3/Slate 7 supports AP mode with wired backhaul.

If you require the 6GHz band, Flint 3 would be a better choice.

Awesome, thank you!
