Wifi constantly disconnects and reconnects on GL.iNet GL-MT1300 (Beryl)

Bought this a few months ago for live streaming events I do on occasion. Every time, the connected video switcher via ethernet works fine, but the laptop connected via wifi keeps connecting and disconnecting every few minutes. Infuriating to say the least. Tried updating to latest firmware, locking the router to 5G band, auto channel, and still no success. Worth noting that this HP Win 11 laptop connects to numerous other wifi networks with no issues at all.

Love to hear any suggestions. The log follows.

Is your MT1300 connected to the Internet using Repeater?
The logs seem to indicate that the repeater was disconnected. An disconnected repeater will try to rescan and reconnect, which will cause the device’s Wi-Fi to be temporarily down.

No, not wifi repeater. I am using it in router mode, connected to ethernet WAN. Yup, it keeps disconnecting. Question is why? Searches have shown that I am not the only one with this issue.

Are there any high-powered devices near you? It sounds like the external environment is interfering for WiFi.

Maybe upgrading to firmware version 4.x would help.

I knew it was not some specific interference, as this happens in a number of locations. The good news is that the suggested firmware seems to have fixed the problem. I had updated to the most recent firmware offered in the router update, and no difference. This beta version finally fixed this frustrating problem. I am sure this will help many others too.

It is ready to be compiled and tested and will be available around February 10th.

Great! So far, the Beta seems stable. Certainly more so than the release it replaced. Worth noting that most users will probably not even notice this problem with typical email and web browsing, as the disconnect is only a couple of seconds. For those like myself using a Blackmagic ATEM, it is very noticeable. Easy to test for with a continuous ping. So pleased that I don’t have to replace this little router.
