It says ‘success’ on connected to the open network but in fact has not connected and returns me to the admin config page and the WiFi isn’t connected… I’ve seen this on more than one open network, works fine with a network with a password

Will try openwrt route…

Who is the provider of the open network?

I just tried my Mango with firmware 3.201 and it can connect to open network. It just takes several tries to get IP address so I waited 10+ seconds

Hi,

That is interesting, the wifi network is in a private holiday home and is being used extensively by many devices. My version is also 3.201, maybe i did not wait long enough for an IP address, i will try again. However, i was pretty sure i had the same issue with another open network a while ago… Thanks for testing it for me

just checked again and it did the same thing. finds the network when i scan… says ‘success’ when i try and join and then returns me back to the main page but the repeater mode is not activated and it does not think it’s connected. are there any logs which i can view on this device…

You can ssh to the router and use logread to get the log.
