Hi,
I have been using GL-MT6000 for a few months and from certain devices I am unable to access YouTube.com and I get "Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" error.
- If I use my 5G Network, I don’t get this error
- If I use my Corporate VPN, I also don’t get this error.
I have SurfShark VPN and using it on the Router and I have WireGuard Client enabled.
I can exclude the device OR not and it makes no difference but on some devices when I exclude, youtube works.
Can someone tell me which logs to look at and what is going on?
Thanks
Long and short of it:
Surf Shark et al. IPs are a cesspit of use and abuse … widely shared, huge amounts of users, that do whatever the hell they like with them. Then everyone suffers.
The message, is just Google telling you that.
Device IDs, cookies etc will likely be tracked across IP changes, even after you turn it off and/or exclude it from the tunnel.

Appreciate the response but then how come this happens on two devices only and rest work fine?
Also of if I turn off WiFi and then boot the device from the router, it briefly works?
All devices display the same Public IP but 2 (or 3) consistently have have this problem while others don’t.
Strange…
Google’s risk control is not based solely on IP addresses. If factors such as the user agent (UA) or other signals match patterns associated with malicious traffic, the likelihood of verification challenges may increase.
