The Flint 2 currently has two actively maintained firmware options:
- Stock firmware: Built on the MTK SDK provided by the chipset vendor, using closed-source wireless drivers. Since MTK has not provided a newer version, its OpenWrt base remains at op21. We are still maintaining this version and providing bug / security fix.
- OP24 firmware: Built on the open-source OpenWrt project, with an op24 base.
If you’d like to use a newer OpenWrt version, you can choose the OP24 firmware.
