Just looking for some help, installed the Brume 2 today with plenty of issues:
Couldn't access the Brume 2 via the app.
Struggled to connect to the Brume 2 via the EERO routers WiFi
Struggled to connect to connect the drop in mode which I wanted to use, it just wouldn’t do it.
Connected direct to the incoming internet/ISP which do appear to work, but my internet connection would be up and running and then down constantly, up and down.
I’ve gone through the helps docs and YouTube vids but really struggling.
I’m with YouFibre in the UK which normally runs through the EERO 6+ routers, I'd still like to use these routers along with the Brume 2
I originally set up the brume2 as the secondary router (left in router network mode), connected like so:
ONT to the eero wan port, from the eero lan port to a 5port switch, from the switch to the Brume 2 wan port.
I’ve also tried from the ONT to the eero wan, from the eero lan to the Brume 2 wan, from the Brume 2 lan to the 5port switch.
it assigns a wan ip 192.168.4.142 which I've reserved on the eero.
I can access the Brume 2 or ping it from the command prompt.
I’ve also tried it as the primary router and setting the eero to bridge mode. This does appear to work and allow me access, however it looses internet connection roughly every 15 seconds, then connects and drops again after 15 seconds.
How would I setup the corresponding port so it’s set open? So I can use it as a secondary router?
I've asked my internet provider to see if there’s an issue there end, just waiting for a response.
In general, Drop-in Gateway is better suited for users with some networking background, though we are always happy to assist if you encounter issues.
If simplicity and long-term maintenance are priorities, configuring Brume 2 as the primary router may be the easier option.
Please share your preferred approach so we can provide more targeted guidance.
We're glad to hear you can now access Brume 2 when it's acting as a secondary router.
As a reminder, if you intend to access Brume 2 from outside your home network, please expose the encrypted HTTPS port (443) rather than the unencrypted HTTP port (80).
To further clarify:
If your goal is only to allow devices on your primary network (Eero) to access the Brume 2 management interface:
• Enable WAN access for ports 80/443 on Brume 2
• Reserve the Brume 2 WAN IP on the Eero (currently you have set it as 192.168.4.142)
